Where will the Festival be held in 2008?

In 2008 the Point Nepean Bluesfest will be held at Point Nepean Quarantine Station, Point Nepean National Park, at Portsea.

When is the Festival?

The Festival will be held over the Easter Weekend. For 2008 the dates are Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of March.

Gates open at 11am and the Festival concludes at 11pm each night.

How far is Point Nepean from Melbourne?

It is approximately 100 kilometres from Melbourne. Point Nepean is at the western tip of the Mornington Peninsula and at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay.

Is there camping available onsite at Point Nepean?

No, camping is not available at Point Nepean but there are foreshore camping facilities available from the foreshore camping office and it is advisable to book early.

When is the first artist announcement?

Our first artist announcement was back in December, with the early January.

Become a member through our homepage (coming soon) to receive first hand information on artist announcements via email.

Where can I find the program and information about the artists?

Once our first announcement for 2008 is on our website, you will find all the information via the “2008 Line up” link on our homepage. With every additional announcement the new artists will be added to the link.

How do I get a stall at the Festival?

On line Applications for food and market stalls are now closed for 2008.

How do I become a Volunteer?

Volunteer applications will be closed as of Thursday, 31st January 2008.

Will parking be available on site?

Yes, pre paid daily parking will be available on site at Point Nepean until sold out.

If you live or are staying locally we suggest avoiding the fuss, take the bus and PLEASE don’t drink and drive.

Will local transport be available?

There will be official 'Festival Shuttle Service' operating continuously along Point Nepean Road from Rosebud to Sorrento continuing along Hotham Rd and Franklin Road  to Portsea and into POINT NEPEAN "A Music Experience" for the duration of the event. This service will be in operation from 10am daily, and will service all stops every 10 - 15 minutes. Please view the Bus Stops for further detail.

A Sorrento to Point Nepean Loop bus will run in addition to this service for patrons being 'dropped off' in Sorrento catering for increased numbers in this area.

Am I allowed to bring a camera to the Festival?

Small still cameras are of course permitted.

Please do not bring cameras with professional telephoto lenses, video cameras or audio recording devices to the Festival. You will be asked to take them back to your car, or accommodation.

Can I bring my own seating?

Yes, it is fine to bring your own folding chair.

As the night goes on and numbers fill up, we do kindly ask you to remove your folding chairs, so there is more room for everyone.

What facilities are there for disabled people?

Vehicle access will be reserved for the purpose of setting down disabled passengers. Disabled car parking spaces close to the site and disabled toilets with access ramps will be available. Our Information Stall will be able to help with any requests and supply necessary information.

Can we bring food or drinks to the festival?

The Festival is a licensed event with alcohol, soft drinks and water available for purchase. No Alcohol or Glass is allowed to be bought into the Festival Site. We have a wide variety of food at the food fair, which is held inside the Festival. You can bring your own snacks and water in sealed plastic bottles. Any contraband will be confiscated.

Can I refill my water bottle on site?

Yes, there are special water taps set up for this purpose.

What is the entry age requirement?

Point Nepean Bluesfest is an 18+ event. You must bring your PHOTO ID to gain entry.

Point Nepean is an ADULT orientated music festival, and it may not be appropriate for young children. Prams are not permitted as it may be difficult to move a pram around the festival given the event is expected to sell out.

We do welcome older children, however patrons under 18 are only permitted if they hold a valid ticket and are accompanied at ALL times by their parent.

Can I come to the festival if I am under the age of 18?

Are there concession tickets for children?

Children age 6 to 12 are catered for with a Children’s ticket.

Do children get in free?

Children aged 5 and under get in free.

Is there a dress code?

No, you can wear what you want but warm clothes for night are advisable.

Are dogs or other animals allowed on the festival site?

Definitely not. Only exceptions are Guide or disability Dogs.

How do I submit my band to play at Point Nepean

Artist applications are now closed for 2008.

Are Passouts available?

There are NO PASSOUTS permitted from the festival on either day, however weekend ticket purchasers will be allowed to

Re-enter on the Sunday. Please make sure you bring in everything you need for the day (including something warm for the evening)

What happens if it rains?

We play rain or shine so if it's looking like it is going to rain, please bring some wet weather gear (note that umbrellas are not permitted).
