Help bring music to Bionic Ears….at Point Nepean 2008.
Imagine Point Nepean without music?

Click here for a demonstration of how music ‘sounds’ with a Bionic Ear.
Although advances have been made, the Bionic Ear is presently unable to replicate the complex pattern of normal ear nerve activity. Unfortunately, most recipients do not have near normal hearing, have difficulty hearing in noisy backgrounds, have poor sound quality for music and therefore are unable to enjoy a tune or melody.
At Point Nepean this year, you will have to opportunity to win some exciting prizes and at the same time help bring music to kids.
Purchase a limited edition guitar shaped lapel Pin for $10 and receive an entry into a draw to win! Visit the Bionic Ear stall in the market area for more details.
About the Bionic Ear Institute:
World leading in the science field of Medical Bionics, The Bionic Ear Institute enjoys international recognition for its track record in Medial Bionics. This reputation has been earned as a result of the conception, research, and development, led by Professor Graeme Clark AC, of the world’s first multi-channel Bionic Ear (cochlear implant) at Melbourne’s Bionic Ear Institute and the University of Melbourne.
This remarkable achievement led to bringing the gift of hearing to over 100,000 people in more than 70 countries.
Building on the knowledge gained from developing the Bionic Ear, the Institute with its research partners, are now creating new iconic projects including the development of a Bionic Eye and intelligent implantable devices to liberate people with diseases such as Epilepsy and Parkinson’s.
