Yes. This is a compulsory meeting which will cover all Occupational Health and Safety requirements, rosters & additional information that you will require to ensure you get the most out of being a volunteer at the festival. It's also a great way to meet the volunteer co-ordinators and become part of the Volunteer family. This meeting will be held on site on Friday the 21st of March.
Can I choose my shifts so I can work with my friends?
If you are planning to volunteer with friends, please ensure that you indicate their names in the request section of the online application form. Also make sure that your friends remember to apply. We will try to accommodate you however we can not guarantee that all requests can be met. If the roster allows, a maximum of 2 friends will be rostered together at any one time.
What if I am unable to make a shift due to illness or car problems etc, but wish to continue as a volunteer for the rest of the festival?
You will be given a contact number for the volunteer headquarters for use if you are late, ill or unable to make your shift. Contact can also be made via head office.
I am travelling in Australia from overseas can I volunteer at the festival?
Only if you have a valid visa for working whilst travelling in Australia. A standard holiday visa does not permit you to be a volunteer at the festival. All volunteer applicants must be either born in Australia or have an existing resident or working holiday visa for the duration of the festival. Student visas & Working Holiday visas are only acceptable if the visa stipulates that work is permitted. Proof of your visa will be required before confirmation as a volunteer can be finalised.
