Volunteering at POINT NEPEAN
There are many different jobs that you will be required to complete when you contract
to be a volunteer during the two days of the Festival. When we all pull together
as a team we contribute a large amount of energy and support (and smiling faces)
that is invaluable to the success of the overall event.
Hopefully the following brief job descriptions for each area will assist you in
what we will require and create a better understanding of the commitment you are
making by agreeing to be a Point Nepean Volunteer. We rely on you to
fulfil the commitment you are making to us, as we will to you. We appreciate your
time and commitment as valuable and if you are unable to fulfil your commitment
to us either prior or during the Festival please notify us immediately.
It is essential that you work with your Team Leader and or Supervisor to ensure
the responsibilities of each area is carried out for the duration of your shift.
Any special requests, toilet breaks etc are to be coordinated directly with your
area Supervisor.
You may be asked to move around the site & change your volunteer role as required.
We need your full co-operation at all times. This includes not leaving the position
you have been placed in. We must work as a team to ensure that each shift runs smoothly
and we all support each other as needed. Your commitment to the task is crucial.
We ask that you consider the time you have committed to the Blues Festival, pace
yourself so you can enjoy both your volunteer work and your time at the Festival.

Point Nepean Volunteer Job Descriptions 2008
ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE DIRECTED BY THE VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATORS AND PREDOMINANTLY
SUPERVISED BY THE SECTION TEAM LEADER ON DUTY
All Rounders/ vollie head quarters
You are required to assist in all areas of the Festivals volunteer requirements wherever needed and are supervised directly by the volunteer co-coordinators. You must be willing to work flexible hours and be on call when need be. You may be asked to help the event team with crowd management and bus coordination at the end of each evening.
Arm banding
You are the first person the ticket holders encounters at the Festival. Smiles and friendly greetings are required by each of you throughout your shift. You are stationed at the entrance gate and need to securely attach a wristband to each ticket holder upon arrival. Numbers will fluctuate due to demand and you may be moved to other areas as required. Any person in this role is found to be untrustworthy or unreliable will be removed from the Festival for the entire duration of the Festival.

catering
You will be working in the Vollie Head Quarters and will be in charge of distributing meals to fellow Vollies on their shift break. You will also be responsible for cleaning and refilling the tea and coffee station and making sure that the Vollie Head Quarters is generally kept neat and tidy.
Information booth
You are dealing directly with the public & will require reasonable knowledge of the site, festival programme, band line up, emergency procedures, amenities and the local Peninsula area. You will also be responsible for storing and logging all lost property.
GREEN TEAM
A dirty yet rewarding job.... you will be asked to continually walk the festival site ensuring that the festival grounds are kept neat and tidy. You will be required to pick up rubbish/cans/bottles and place in the nearest appropriate bin. Gloves will be provided for you through out your shift. This is a great way to walk the site and be amongst all the action. Think Green! Recycle, Recycle, Recycle!!
Traffic Management
Ticket Sellers - You will be responsible for helping sell car parking passes and will be under direct supervision by the car parking manager.
Car Par Attendant – Your job will consist of assisting the car parking attendants with directing and parking patron vehicles.
Will Call
You will be located in ticket box and will be required to greet patrons as they arrive at the festival site. You will then assist the ticketing manager with helping to locate and distribute tickets to those patrons who are yet to pick them up.
